It’s the time of year when we see a large influx of custom build computers. Tax money is starting to roll in. It’s a great time to build the PC you have always wanted.
This is exactly what has landed a large number of custom-built desktops in our shop. The ambition of building your own computer is great. The process is often more complicated than people account for. Computer parts can be very costly if you make a mistake and break them.
We have been heartbroken for customers who have already paid out $1,200-$2,000 on parts only for us to tell them they have damaged their CPU or motherboard during install, and it will need to be replaced. This is very costly for the customer.

We highly recommend this for anyone who has never built their own PC. Spending $80 to have a professional assemble your expensive new product could save you $600-$800 or more.
Please note that we aren’t saying that no one can assemble their own custom build PC. Some folks successfully did it for the first time in 2020-2021 thanks to the Covid Pandemic and a lot of time at home. We truly congratulate these individuals. It’s a very rewarding experience.
Custom building a PC isn’t for everyone. Just because you are a gamer doesn’t mean you are ready to dive into building a computer. That’s ok!
